Chuqiao graduated from the Mdes Com Des course in 2022 — specialising in photography.
Miss
Miss explores themes and issues associated with historic and contemporary feminism in China. Chuqiao constructed a series of images in which her models wear the ubiquitous Chinese garment—the Cheongsam—as a symbol of emancipation, whilst simultaneously being contained in a restrictive, wooden, box-like structure—symbolic of the restrictive patriarchy in Chinese culture.
